2014 New York Auto Show
Since its debut at the Chicago Auto
Show in 1989, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has been on the market for an impressive 25
years. To celebrate the quarter century anniversary event, Mazda is going to be
showcasing the legendary roadster in the New York Auto Show. They are bringing
no less than 15 examples of the vehicle throughout the history of over 900,000 in
production. They have not announced which models they are going to be putting on
display, but they have a robust amount to choose from including the concepts.
The
ultimate gift that all onlookers share is the fact that we are all openly
hoping that Mazda really gives us the gift of showcasing the highly
anticipated, fourth generation Miata in Manhattan, this year. The legendary roadster
is already a staple in history with its reasonable price tag and textbook fun
drivability. Alfa Romeo is said to be
partnering with Mazda to create the design for the new Miata look, and they
have been working on it in Japan for the past few years.
As of
right now the new chassis reveal is just a rumor, however the fact that has
been stated is that they will be bring 15 models across the first three
generations to display. “It will be absolutely worth attending the New York
Auto Show if you are a Miata fan,” said Jeremy Barnes, Mazda USA PR Director.
The auto show platform has been billed as a joint venture with Alfa Romeo and
the anticipation couldn’t be any higher. Luckily, we won’t have to wait much
longer to find out if some portion of the new Miata is being unveiled, because
the New York Auto Show opens up April 16th.
Even if
the new chassis is not revealed, we here at Parkway Family Mazda are just
excited to celebrate the success of the MX-5. We are looking forward to the
events to come, and will keep you up to date on the news, as it unfolds.
